GEAR Up for Microsoft Office SharePoint Server!

GEAR Up is an online content tool that will assist IT professionals and business managers to find timely resources and guidance through phases of a typical SharePoint Server 2007 deployment cycle: Get Ready, Engineer, Adopt, and Release.  Each phase relates to end user adoption of SharePoint Server 2007.

In the first phase, Get Ready, you’ll get resources for building a business case and winning executive sponsorship, two important aspects of getting end users to adopt SharePoint Server 2007. In the Engineer phase, you’ll get pointers to articles and blog posts about governance and compliance to help you plan for the rules of engagement, mapping them to internal and external needs. In the Adopt phase you’ll get resources to help you excite and inform end users about SharePoint Server 2007. In the Release phase you’ll find tools to conduct an internal campaign to launch SharePoint Server 2007 in your company through e-mails, posters, and video demonstrations.

GEAR Up includes the new ‘Internal Buzz Kit’ for SharePoint Server 2007. The kit provides sample materials to help kick off communications and engage end users. The Buzz Kit includes videos to inform and excite end users, a presentation with a built-in script, posters, training that can be installed on each user’s desktop, training certificates, and guidance on how you run a SharePoint Internal Buzz campaign.

How to use GEAR Up

You can select a phase and view all the content in that phase if you know where you are in the process. You can select topics from various phases to get an overview of information. Or, if you’re not sure where to start, take our survey to help you determine which topics are suited to your needs.

Role-based filtering

Gear Up is designed to provide content based on the Role that you select from the Role Drop Down menu. When you select a role, you will only see content topics and resources for the role you have selected. You may change your role at any time. If you want to see all the content available, select All Roles from the drop down menu.

Navigation

You can find content relevant to the deployment lifecycle you are in and your needs by using the left-hand navigation.
