Build a Business Case

Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 can help employees work more efficiently and make better decisions. But exactly how much does it help?

Use the titles below to quickly navigate between relevant content based on your needs. When you click a title (i.e.: Identify Pain Points) the relevant content will display.

There’s many aspects of your business that Office SharePoint Server 2007 can help improve. The key to building a successful business case is highlighting specific areas where it can provide the most help.

Surveying employees is valuable not only for identifying pain points, but also identifying areas you should highlight later to build end-user excitement.

Use the Factor 4 Index to help you identify pain points and needs within your organization. Survey participants rate your company on 64 statements that measure the four dimensions of the “new world” of work: inspiration, culture, organization, and technology. The survey results can show opportunities for improvement using Office SharePoint Server 2007.

You can also create your own survey. Ask employees to identify specific problems with processes. What is the most frustrating part of your job each day? Outside of your own job, what problems do you see in the organization? For this survey, you may want identify a couple of employees in each department and interview them one-on-one. That makes respondents feel their answers are even more important.
