Video: Michael On The Go – My Charger Saved Me

I often gush about my Dodge Charger but today was a little different. Today I recount how last night my beautiful silver bullet’s performance saved my bacon and that of some incredible teens as well. Thank you Charger ESP and Hemi! Also, big thanks to Jeff at my local Hendrick Dodge for keeping in tip top performance.

Video: Michael On The Go – My Eco Friendly Dodge Charger… With A Hemi!

With all my new readers of late seeing those shots of me in my beloved 2006 Dodge Charger RT in my Michael on the Go videos as well as BackSeat Driving videos I have been getting a lot of questions around fuel economy as many people assume that having a beefy muscle car means you are sucking down the gas. In this video I explain why thanks to Dodge, I get the best of both worlds, world class power and fuel sipping highway goodness for my 3 hour jaunts to and from Charlotte. Gotta say I love my Charger!

Video: Michael On The Go – Operation Cookie Drop

As a former US Army Sergeant from many years back I am a big supporter of our folks here in the USA serving in uniform. In today's Michael On The Go episode I talk about Operation Cookie Drop. It may be non-techie but it’s a great way for folks in the USA to support the troops, support your local Girl Scouts (always a good thing) and it’s all “tastefully” done. smile_wink  (in other words it tastes good!)

Make Your New Years Resolutions Now With The Resolution Randomizer

Since it is New Years Eve here in North Carolina what would the day/night be without some New Years resolutions? I have already made my real ones but I thought I would pass along this one that comes courtesy of Channel 10. The Resolution Randomizer makes zany resolutions for you using a Silverlight application that works a lot like a slot machine. My first attempt has me resolving to "Never be caught doing impressions in the conference room." If I do that how am I supposed to work on my stand up comedy act?  ;-)

Learn more about Make Some Crazy New Year’s Resolutions then make some of your own.

Lessons From A Dog For The New Year

This holiday season I was planning on writing up a lengthy piece talking about all the life lessons I learn on a continual basis from our families beloved Yellow Labrador, Sasha. Sasha is a rescue dog who, prior to adoption, had been abused the first 3 years of her life. Yet despite all she suffered has become nothing but a bundle of unrelenting love and joy in our hour. She has so much to teach about unconditional love and acceptance I thought what better a New Years post but to talk about her and the lessons she teaches each day.

After yesterday afternoon though I decided not to write up the piece. Instead I am making a recommendation. Get yourself to the Movie theater and see Marley & Me. I don't care what any critics might say, our whole family LOVED it. In fact I have never seen people come out of a theater with the expressions I saw and making the kind of comments they did. I saw that one critic, Christy Lemire, Associated Press, said "... yes, it's effective in its ability to evoke emotion. Having said that, it's not a particularly good movie." All I can say is she either must have never had a dog or is a soul-less city dweller who despises them.

Now Sasha has never been the "bad" dog shown in the movie. When we adopted here, knowing the propensity of Labs for high energy and chewing, we were fully prepared for some furniture damage and such but she has been pretty much perfectly behaved in that regards. But the ability to love, love, and did I mention give love, on a continual basis is something she and Marley have very much in common.

The movie is based on a true story and book by the main character. I do have to warn you at the end there was not a dry eye in the theater but listen well to the closing words from the main character about what his dog had taught him. They are qualities we can all use a little more of and with which the world would be a much different, and better place.

From my family and Sasha, to you we wish you a wonderful holiday season and a Happy New Year.

By Request Michaels World Famous Limoncello :-)

Ever since I Twittered/Facebooked that I was making two new batches of my world famous Limoncello over the holidays I have gotten numerous requests for the recipe. In the spirit of giving I thought I would give a link to all to my recipe for Italian Sunshine, Limoncello. You can get my recipe for this delicious taste of southern Italy here.  Salute' smile_tongue
