From The Field > Posts > Forefront Protection Server Management Console - Unable to Un-Install
|
| I will start to Blog about SharePoint soon I promise! Here is another Forefront related issue that I recently experienced.
One of my customers had installed this in a test environment to evaluate the product, they decided to un-install the product however the product would not successfully un-install and the following was logged in the Application Event Log:
Event 10005: Product: Microsoft Forefront Protection Server Management Console -- Error 26002. Failed to read IIsWebs table. (-2147023728)
I couldn’t find any information relating to this specific error and FPSMC, eventually we managed to resolve this issue by going into IIS and removing a host header that had been manually added to the site that hosts the FPSMC management console, by default this is the Default Web Site.
It looks as though FPSMC has some reliance on the original URL that was configured during installation, which is http://ServerName.
