See something in IE8 Beta 2 that's not working right?
The IE8 team wants your feedback - more eyes make bugs easier to find. If you encounter issues with IE8 beta releases, be those issues with SharePoint or with any other web applicaiton/site you can search/post in the IE Beta Newsgroup. If you find that others have already reported the same issue, reply and add your voice to the chorus. If your issue is not there, create a new thread and give as many details as possible, and if the site is publically accessible, link to the site for reference.

Google results truncated

With each new beta version I expected this particular problem to be readily noticed and eventually fixed, however, perhaps I am the only one that uses Google search. The results are truncated after the first 3. After playing around with it. I noticed that clicking on one of the results and then using the BACK button will allow IE to display ALL results. Using competing browsers or IE7 on a different machine yields the correct results. Furthermore, if this is a beta, should not a feedback button be easily available so I do not spend so much time trying to post the problems I encounter?

Re: See something in IE8 Beta 2 that's not working right?

I have the same problem with google.  reeks of manipulation considering Chrome has just come out of beta.

I hate IE8 because of the crashing,  but now it won't let me switch back to IE7 because i have a newer browser.  I think i will try chome.

re: truncated google results.  Others have reported this on MS Connect, here: https://connect.microsoft.com/IE/feedback/ViewFeedback.aspx?FeedbackID=364070&wa=wsignin1.0

You can see the status there shows that many folks cast votes to let the product group know they saw it and wanted it fixed.  And you can see that the product group indicated it has been fixed as of 12/15/08.  Although I have no information about when to expect it, since it has been quite some time since the previous beta was released, my hope is that the next beta build should be out soon for you to try it out for yourself.

re: shouldn't it be easy to give beta feedback.

re: switching back to IE7.  I'm not sure what problems you are having, but I recently rolled back to IE7 and had no troubles at all.  All you have to do is go into "Add/Remove Programs"  (on XP) or "Programs and Features" (on Vista), be sure to tick "show updates" - find the entry for IE8 Beta 2 and choose to uninstall it.

Back Button Problem

I too am having a problem with the back button in IE8 running on Windows 7.  For the first 3 weeks it was installed I had no issues, but now it will only work for a few times and then stop.

Back Button

this post on the IE Beta newsgroup suggests that the back button problem that many folks have reported here may be caused by pages that contain an excessively large view state:
