"direct connectivity to SQL Azure without a WCF endpoint"

Maybe I misunderstand this, but I thought you can connect to SQL Azure directly? Here's an article by Christian Glessner (SharePoint MVP) that describes how to connect Office 365 directly with SQL Azure through BCS:

I tested this as well, and it worked without any problems

BCS API Access for Custom Web Parts

External lists only provide a wrapper around "FindFiltered" support our solution makes calls to the BCS APIs like IEntity FindSpecific and IEntity.FindAssociated and renders this data in custom webparts. Are these calls to the BCS API supported in from a sandboxed webpart in SharePoint Online?

External users - how many can I use, and where to purchase additional licenses?

Hi -

Great news and updates, and I'm especially interested in the external users feature. I believe this is truly taking extranets to the next stage, so much simpler to set up and maintain than to build an extranet in house!

I believe I read somewhere the external users are limited to 50 per SharePoint Online tenant, and additional licenses can be purchased at extra cost. The costs calculator has this option (http://www.microsoft.com/online/office365tools/estimator/cost-estimator.aspx), but when I check under Subscriptions > Purchase in my Office 365 management page I don't see this option. We're using SharePoint Online Plan 2.

Am I looking in the wrong place? Please advice!

External Users

Hum - are they really limited to 50? - also is there any way to automate sharing a site with external users?

Sandbox BCS Connector

As a consultant, I at one point had been asked to develop a BCS connector. This becomes a limiting factor when considering Office 365 (something which they'd been considering).

Any chance we can see support for sandboxed BCS connectors?

Also, can you guys get reconnected with Connect.Microsoft.com ?

Thanks,
-Scott

Sandbox BCS Connector

Hi Scott,

AFAIK as of the Nov. 2011 update for Office 365, it now supports BCS connectors via WCF (but you need the Enterprise plan). Check this link for more info: http://techblurt.com/2011/11/04/office365-update-business-connectivity-services/

Date specific alerts

Can we set an alert to be generated on a specific date.  For example, we want to review documents on a regular basis.  We like to set an alert to remind us to review the documents on a specific date.  We realize that we can show a review date column, but would like an alert to be generated based on the date in that column
