SharePoint 2007 en el año 2008...que si hay movimiento?

Que tal amigos, este es un post rápido y sencillo, pero con muchas ganas de compartir cierta información

re: Announcing SharePointPedia -- community driven content recommendations and requests!

Here are answers to the above feedback -
Will the featured articles on the homepage ever update, or will it be a long-running ranking of articles?
>> We're still working with the algorithm here and how users are navigating to new and recommended content.  Agree that the goal should be to avoid a static view on the home page.
Will the Featured Users web part display any users outside of the "top rated" ones?
>> Yes, soon on this one.  We are working on having users cycle in the featured users web part.
The Up & Coming web part does not seem to be populating with info when viewing the home page, or the "Most Recommended" page (listed in the Frequently Used Views web part).
>> The up & Coming web part has been updated to allow viewing of Up and Coming Content.
Is the Community Search web part functioning properly?  I tried searching for the term "sharepoint" in it and it did not return any results...that doesn't seem like the right behavior...
>> We are updating the crawl settings of the Community Search part and will have a fix for this soon.
Similarly, the search field (which is strangely displayed as a part of the Popular Tags web part) does not return any results for the term "web part"...
>> The popular tags search field is a method for searching for additonal tags.  You can either do a lookup through the search box, or click on More.. to see all tags.  The search box has type ahead to allow selection of a particular tag.
Thanks for the site feedback!

SharePointPedia Feedback

I originally tried emailing these comments to the address listed above (SPPfb at microsoft dot com, with the punctuation corrected ), but got bounced.  So I'll post them here:
- Will the featured articles on the homepage ever update, or will it be a long-running ranking of articles?  I know that the scale and scope of SPP is quite different from Digg, but it seems like these articles should "timeout" or something based on their age.  Currently there's only one article on the homepage less than one week old and the top story is over two weeks old.  Just a thought...
- Will the Featured Users web part display any users outside of the "top rated" ones?  Please don't view this as a condemnation of the wonderful people currently featured ( ;) ), it just seems like it would be cool to have this updated somewhat so users can get a broader view of who their participating with...
- The Up & Coming web part does not seem to be populating with info when viewing the home page, or the "Most Recommended" page (listed in the Frequently Used Views web part).
- Is the Community Search web part functioning properly?  I tried searching for the term "sharepoint" in it and it did not return any results...that doesn't seem like the right behavior...
- Similarly, the search field (which is strangely displayed as a part of the Popular Tags web part) does not return any results for the term "web part"...

Community Server 2007 vs. MOSS 2007

I'm baffled that Microsoft marketing business units use products that are not built upon MOSS 2007. Take new Sliver Light http://www.silverlight.net site. It is not built on MOSS 2007. Also XBox 360 forums are not built on MOSS 2007. I'm in a fight with my companies IT team right now and they insist that MOSS 2007 can operate like Community Server 2007. I have little faith if Microsoft themselves is not using MOSS 2007 for their own product marketing and community driven sites why would anyone else want to buy MOSS 2007?
Thanks,
D.

Bugs?

Looks like there is still some bugs to work out as I get this error when trying to submit a new article:
"SPP Data Access Exception Occured"
Also, from a usability side, the tag field doesn't tell you that you HAVE to pick from a predefined list, but rather gives you an error.
