Language Offerings for SharePoint 2010 Products

Multilingual support is key to the deployment success of many of our global customers. This post shares our plans for language coverage for SharePoint 2010 and estimated release timeframes. To date we have shipped 19 languages, including English, Japanese, French, Russian, German, Spanish, Chinese Simplified, Chinese Traditional, Arabic, Korean, Hebrew, Hindi, Danish, Thai, Swedish, Polish, Portuguese (Brazil), Dutch and Italian with 21 others shipping between now and September 2010.

The following table applies to SharePoint Foundation 2010, SharePoint Server 2010, Office Web Apps, Project Server 2010, Search Server 2010 and Search Server 2010 Express. The Estimated Release Timeframe is RTM date, which may be earlier than the date when it hit public download.

Note: Fast Search Server for SharePoint 2010 uses the language infrastructure of SharePoint Server 2010, so there is no separate language pack or localized version for it.

The newly released Greek language pack displays the wrong language names in the user's language selection menu. As *all* Greek companies use English for their internal IT systems, this bug may be visible to over 90% of deployments. I created a bug report at connect.microsoft.com/.../576661 , just want to make sure it doesn't get lost.

Portuguese (Portugal) was expected in May, but seems to be delayed. Any updates on timeframes?

Agree, we too need the Norwegian version.. We are testing with Swedish now..... :)

Macedonian Language Pack for SharePoint 2010

Hi, I just read about planned release of SharePoint 2010 SP1 in mid-summer 2011 along with new Language Packs. Is theme a chance Macedonian Language Pack for SharePoint to be included?

English language pack bug

I'm using finnish sharepoint 2010 server and due to needs in our extranet site, we needed to deploy english language pack. However english language pack doesn't change the calendar dates or months. The dates and months are in finnish while rest of the site translated well into english. The calendars were created after deploying the language pack and I created new test calendars and made sure I pick English.
