Blog has a New 2010 Master Page

I finally made the switch to the 2010 UI; starting with a new master page!  I made this master page pretty quickly so please use the comments of this post to give me any ideas or suggestions for changes as well as to provide any bugs/issues you may come across.

Once I'm "done" with the design and have worked out the issues i'll start blogging about how to skin a 2010 site!

Cheers,
Zach

Like the new styling

Hey Zach,

Looking quite nice. Think you'll need to review what your exposing though. I can go to site actions, view all lists, navigate all comments etc.
Didn't try to do anything bad, but probably something you'd rather hide.
Regards,

Niels

url rewritting???

the url for this post is using query strings. Shouldn't a modern blog have a friendly url. Also, can you add disqus or to a sharepoint blog? I can't find any info on how good or bad a sharepoint 2010 blog is, what its features are, etc. I want to use sharepoint foundation for our back office and then use my company's front end asp.net website for the public and also expose a blog from sharepoint to the public. I don't even know if that is possible. More info on how to put out a blog, skin it, and keep the rest of sharepoint private would be very helpfull. Is this blog platform any good or should we just use a subdomain and worpress or blog engine.net?? thanks for any clarity.

This is what I want to do

Hi Zach,

Looks nice and not so SharePoint-ish. I appreciate it if you could explain in detail how you achieved this. I need to customize the company's SharePoint blog and we're using 2010 RTM. I would especially like to know how to 1) change the left navigation to right (like you did) 2) move RSS feed to top page (just like you did).

Thanks a lot!

Looks good =)

Hi,

I'm trying to do the same with my SharePoint 2010. Hope you can post a how-to =)
There are some guides over the net, unfortunately not really good.

Thx!

I like it.

How'd you move the navigation to the right?  I that a 2010 thing?
