Problem
Could not add a MOSS server to a farm. Saw this Failed to connect to the configuration database and Access Denied when I ran the configuration wizard:
A quick look in the Event log and I see the same thing:
Solution
The Access Denied message is a bit of a red herring. It's not permissions that are the problem. I checked the hot fixes applied to the problem server. They didn't match the others. I patched to the same level, re-ran the config wizard and hey presto. |
